My Own Bag was created in 2004 by Ania to challenge single-use shopping bags. The name is the response to the common question: "Paper or plastic?" I wanted to create reusable shopping bags that are so easy and fun to use that they would revolutionize the way people shop.

My Own Bag is a small company located in Duboce Triangle neighborhood of San Francisco  We make unique reusable shopping bags, including a large line of limited edition reusable shopping bags. We pride ourselves on the high quality of our reusable shopping bags. Our customers are considerate of the environment and also appreciate design and creativity. Our bags are designed so that they are stylish and fun to use.  We wanted people to want to carry the bags with them all the time—just like their wallet. Our reusable shopping bags are made of attractive, durable fabrics usually reserved for interior design. It's an unusual use for the fabric, but it works very well.

We also created activism section with information you can use to fight the environmental problems caused by single use paper and plastic bags. You can share the ideas, research, and statistics with your city's department of the environment and help them implement local policies that reduce the use of single use shopping bags. In 2005 we shared this information with San Francisco Commision on the environment while we were the only 'public' speakers at the initial meetings to introduce the Bag Fee.

• We choose recycled paper with soy ink, whenever feasible.
• We reuse resources when it's an option, such as refilling cartridges and reusing packaging.
